Video art made of digital cut-out animation, digital hand-drawn animation and compositing with visual effects and sound design. 

A slow drift through a weightless space where sea and sky fold into each other. The lonely whale floats through space and calls out in the eerie emptiness. Using the traditional Korean music instrument Taegum mixed with the whale song, indistinguishable from one another.

Inspired by the Bangudae petroglyphs in Ulsan, South Korea, recently inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, recognized for their detailed depictions of marine life and what is believed to be the world’s oldest portrayal of whale hunting.

The animation unravels a contrasting world where gravity loosens, time dissolves, and the line between darkness and light becomes porous.
