A collage of hand-made papers by the artist, crafted from natural materials and memories gathered during the 3 month residency in Taiwan.

Infused with shavings of old red and yellow cypress timber grown only in Taiwan, with sugarcane bagasse from the Soulangh region, and bound by traditional paper mulberry bark, it holds the breath of ancient forests and the memory of Sacred trees lost to time. Each fiber carries historical weight and each element invokes Taiwan’s layered ecology and cultural spirit – juniper for purification, reishi for healing, rice for warmth, tea for calm, gold for prosperity.

The artist’s practice of handcrafting paper from materials significant for Taiwan is not merely a technical gesture, it becomes a symbolic act of preservation. This piece is a quiet and tactile archive of textured stories, and a protest against erasure.
